Here’s the story…Avery dated Cuthbert. Now, Phaneuf is dating Cuthbert. *Cuthbert has also dated Mike Komisarek another NHL player* Avery made a comment about it, without mentioning names, and now he is suspended indefinitely. LAME NHL! LAME!
Tonight the Montreal Canadiens retired Patrick Roy’s number. Patrick Roy is one of the best goaltenders to ever play the game. Below is a video of another elite goaltender, Roberto Luongo, one of the best in the league (who ironically got injured this afternoon) talking about Roy. He was asked who the best goaltenders were…never once does he mention himself although he should always be talked about when talking about the best goaltenders. This is just another reason why I love hockey players, they’re humble, and they are absolutely the best people you will ever meet.
The Canadiens had a great ceremony for Roy, and although there probably were some hurt feelings with him leaving all of that was left behind and he received a great ceremony.
Congrats Patrick Roy!
My Beloved Blue Jackets,
It’s been a fun run, remember all the fun we had last year when you were winning? REMEMBER LAST SEASON? That was fun! You guys tried, you let me know you cared by showing up to play. I don’t know what’s going on with this team, you get my hopes up, you play well for one maybe two periods, and then you collapse. Was it something I said? I hope not, I was hoping that you and I could last forever. I’m not so sure about that anymore. The New Jersey Devils give me the goaltending that I so desperately need, they give me the playoff appearances I desire, and hell, they always at least try to win. You’re on notice, get better, or I’m taking the kids.
Love,
Bethany
You don’t know about hockey….here’s a video that will help explain the rules!
Most people turn on their television, sit down, and waste time avoiding things to do. Last night, I was at my aunt’s helping out with my cousins kids. I waited anxiously for 8:30 to come around. Somewhere after a three year old throwing up on me, home made pizza’s, and before putting to bed one very sleepy 6 year old, my favorite time of the year finally came around.
People think I’m nuts. I’m a hockey nut, and I really am. I try to learn everything I can about the sport, I’m still learning, but I can’t get enough of it. I would sit for hours watching the NHL Network and not think another thought about it. In fact I had a hard time deciding whether or not I would attend my niece’s blessing simply because there was a hockey game in Vegas that I would have given anything to be there for. That’s just how I am, hockey comes before most things, aside from school work of course.
8:30 was when the Blue Jackets opened their season, opened my season. They showed grit, determination, and character as they battled to earn a 1-0 lead, then went down 2-1 in the second, and in the third had a 4-2 lead then the Stars came back to tie it up. The game was decided in overtime, when Rick Nash scored the game winner, we won, my team won.
Somewhere between now and April we (the Jackets) will play 81 brutal games, they will sacrifice their bodies, to win. We will have ups and downs, trades, injuries, and whatever else pops up. It’s a long, long road, but I’m ready for it. And one day, hopefully at the end of April, the Blue Jackets will skate onto the ice at Nationwide Arena, and play their first game of meaningful hockey. Ironically the NHL’s campaign for this year is, “Is this the Year?”…enjoy one of the commercials for the NHL.
