MY BIG NEWS!!

Okay, well the time has finally arrived that I can reveal my BIG news!!  I am now a writer on the best hockey blog on the web (as ranked by USA Hockey Magazine!), and am their Blue Jackets expert!

This is huge for me in sooooo many ways.

  1. It allows me to be a part of a huge site, and get a feel for being a member of the media.
  2. It allows me access.  I am credentialed now.  I have access to players, coaches, and well, everything really.  HUGE.
  3. It’s going to allow me to expand my horizons and put myself out there, and start making connections which is something you have to do in the journalism business.

I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of Kukla’s and can’t wait for the season to start, officially…you know so I can have something to REALLY write about.

Here is my new site!!!

Things I’m lovin…

Writing!  I suppose this isn’t anything new to those of you who know me.  In November I participated in NaNoWriMo and wrote a 50,000 word novel in a month.  As of right now, I have set that novel aside and don’t want to even think about it.  But, I am currently working on a novel that stems from a dream I had about a week ago.  We’ll see how it goes.

Sidney Crosby….HAHA just kidding.  The Pens are playing the New York Rangers in the second round of the playoffs and well I am cheering on the Pens, the less evil of the two teams…which in turn means cheering for Sidney Crosby…….first time ever.

Sleeping, I don’t seem to be able to get enough sleep lately, probably because it’s the end of the semester and I am about to lose my mind.  Also, my god daughter, Kelsie, she is pretty freaking awesome.  The other day I picked her up and patted her bottom and could tell her diaper was wet, so I laid her down to change her diaper, and as soon as I opened the diaper I found a surprise, and Kelsie began to laugh.  I had to tell her that she was lucky I loved her because if I didn’t I wouldn’t find that funny.  She just smiled.  It cracked me up, Kelsie is only 9 weeks old *almost* so she already has pretty good timing.

I don’t think I need to say anything else about that…I am addicted, it is not good.

So there you have it, some of my favorite things right now.  Enjoy.

Dear Bryan Murray,

Please let Brian McGrattan play.  I know you guys may not get along all the time, but really he can play, just give him a chance.  I bet you will like what you see.  He may not be a Heater or Spez but he can play!!!!!!!  I promise, and besides he fights, he brings toughness, you don’t want a show boater like Neal all the time do you?!  COME ON!!  I want to see my hubby play.  DO IT.

Another video…

I know, I said I’d post everyday and I am doing pretty good eh? Today’s post has a lot to do with hockey and Kelsie, I guess because they’re the two biggest parts of my life.

First of all, Kelsie, she is absolutely adorable! I spent the day with her, and well had my first incident. For whatever reason, I went out of my routine, and didn’t put her clean diaper underneath, and well she tinkled. It was rough, we had to wash her off a bit, and then changed her clothes. It was fun….I guess. I think when kids do things like that, you realize how much you love em, I mean come on that is kind of nasty.

Second of all, today was a HUGE day for the Blue Jackets, for those of you non hockey fans, the former Captain Adam Foote was traded on February 26 to the Colorado Avalanche. The Blue Jackets out of respect to Adam Foote didn’t name a Captain until today. We named Rick Nash, Captain of the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Rick Nash was the First Overall Draft pick in the 2003 Entry Draft. It was the first time in franchise history that the Blue Jackets picked first overall and we had to make a trade to do so. Rick Nash has been an assistant captain for a while now. Now he has the reigns, he has the power to take us there. If you don’t know Nasher, and have never seen him play, I suggest you do it. Here is a clip of the talent this kid man has.

If you are interested in seeing the press conference it is posted on my hockey blog you can find the link here.
